Pearrygin quality buck

Well it took me 21 years to draw this tag. I have hunted the the unit twice during the late hunt, once with a a whitetail tag I drew in 2013 and once with my cousin quality tag in 2015. I have seen the quality this unit can produce. but I even in the hay day there where not big heavy bucks standing behind every tree. In 2015 we seen 2 bucks in 10 days what we thought would go over 160 and my cousin killed the second one we seen and it went 178, so we cant score anything worth a damn on the hoof. I figured the first buck i seen that i thought would go 160ish id kill, I should add another cousin drew the tag also, so we had 2 to fill. Any way on to the hunt, I head over thursday night, (i have a cabin over there, makes camping pretty nice that time of year). I was going to check out a spot that a friend had been seeing a lot of does in during the general season. I show up and hour to early and wait till past shooting time, I could'nt believe how dark it still was at legal shooting time. I did see about 15 muley does and a couple of wt does, no bucks. I leave that place and go check a few other spots and see nothing. Its now about noon and 50 degrees out. I decided to go for a walk and glass an areas and check for sign. Im in there about a mile and see a small 4 point in his bed. no does. I continue on for another 2ish miles and didnt see any thing. Its about 330 and i figure i better get back to the truck as there is another area i wanted to glass before dark. I was heading back out and hadn't gone more that a 1/2 mile and i look over to my right across a small draw about 200 yards away there is huge bodied buck stand there looking at me. my heart about jumped out of my chest when i seen the size of his body I knew it had to be a buck with a little age on him. his antlers where light in color and with the dirt and rock back ground i could not see them very well, i could tell he was tall. i instantly pulled my pack off and used it for a rest. I could see we has pretty heavy, tall and wide, and at least a 4 point on one side. I thought good enough for me. I put the crosshairs tight behind the front shoulder and pulled the trigger. he instantly hunches up and took a few steps forward and just stood there with his head down. Im thinking what the hell just happened, did i just gut shoot him, so i pull up tight behind the shoulder again and let another one fly, no responds from the deer at all. Im thinking now i just missed. Im starting to get more excited than i already was, in my head i thinking your going to get one threw the front shoulders, because i know that will work. I pull up on his shoulder and boom down he goes. I still had no idea really what i shot. Ive have shot my share of deer and could not get over how excited i was on this one. I had to take a few moments to calm down before heading over to him. he not a pearrygin giant but Im really happy with him. hes 20 inches tall and 25 inches wide. we grossed 165" with 2 inches of main mean missing his antler looked like a fresh break and i looked all over for the tip but i didnt find it. after an autopsy, the first 2 bullets were 2 inches apart right behind his the should, he was dead on his feet after the first shot. he was blind in his passenger side eye, it was blue with black sack of goo on the eye ball. you can see the dirt that stuck too the side of his face from the eye drainage. I got a hold of my cousins who had just pulling into town and tell them strap there boots and we have one to get out. all they could say is your done already. we got him out about 730 that night, good family times and my biggest buck so far.
P.S. I know my spelling and grammar suck so i don't need to hear about it

Awesome buck. My wife shot a blacktail last year on a quality tag that appears blind in one eye. I think it helps them to stand there a little longer.
