Doesnt necessarily take pressure for a 4.5+ yr old whitetail buck to be nocturnal. All it usually takes is for the velvet to be off
After seeing what I saw today I now know why all the pictures have been at night. That particular area is heavily pressured and they know it. Not saying you wont get a deer out of there but theres better areas to invest in.
I don’t believe in the term nocturnal, if I’m getting night pics , I’m not set up in the right area. I believe every buck is killable in daylight with work and determination some are just tougher than others with the terrain they call home. I have been lucky enough over the years to lay eyes almost every buck I am after. I have hunted Whitetails extensively in NE WA and allot in 127, the rut is all but over, I have big groups of does back together , bucks are now coming into feed. It’s pretty easy to monitor rut activity these days with the invention of trail cams. You can really watch deer activity and see it change. My groups of does were all separated a week or so ago when it peaked, as the rut dwindles does group up again. All my buck pics a week ago were bucks chasing does off my feeder, now it’s bucks coming in and chasing does off feeder to eat. He’s still kicking, hoping he makes it the remainder of season. He’s in eating now.
I've hunted dnr land with similar setups with no problems. This was my first year trying mica because it was a little closer, all the while I was checking cams never saw anyone else till I went in to sit. Disnt realize that many ppl would be there but I had at least sit for a little bit. You said as I did too many ppl in a small area. Not to mention when you have grouse hunters shooting and being loud no deer in their right mind is going to be active in that area during the day.FACT! You yourself dont have any day time pictures. I'm also willing to bet if you do you own a chunk of land, not all of us have access to private like you. Good day sir.
