Burnt Euros (BlackRiver Tax.)
« on: November 22, 2019, 03:54:23 PM »
Had a client bring me two mule deer racks he and his father shot years ago; both Montana bucks were just skull capped. He wanted me to create a lasting scene with them in remembrance of the hunt he shared with his dad and gave me free reign to be creative....which can be dangerous. So...I had a few extra mule deer skulls from customers shoulder mounts (minus the antlers of course) that I kept as beetle food. Euro'd the skulls, attached the skull-capped antlers from the two bucks and after some putty work and seaming to hide the lines I burnt the edges of the skulls to give a little rustic look. Added the skulls to an old fence post laterally and attached some sage and barbed wire. The client loved the look and idea, which made for a good day in the shop. Thought I would share....Joel/BRT.

Excellent job on the seams too, if you hadn't mentioned it I wouldn't have even noticed.  Still tough even when you are looking for it.  Well done!

There’s some about euros, old wood and barbed wire. Great work.
