I just trapped a nice 50lb beaver in the wilds of Seattle. Great birthday present to myself. Love them urban beavers!

Seriously, you don't need to post offensive stuff and ruin a perfectly good post  about someone's success.

Bruce, I didn't mean to stir things up. I guess the old saying fits- A dirty mind is a joy forever or A dirty mind is a terrible thing to waste.  I guess I brought some joy to them.  Have a happy day all!

Congratulations!  Always like the urban trapping angle.  Take any pics of the set or the catch?

Was it a homeless beaver? What was its political leanings?

Hi,  I have some pictures and will figure a way to get them up soon.  The beaver was chewing the hell out of trees along a marina planting strip in Ballard(Lake Wash. Ship Canal)  I could not figure how it was getting up there. Cement bulkhead, cyclone fencing, gates? Maybe it stole a keycard ?  Anyway I hung a Hancock trap over the dock and suspended it in the water with some castor scent and two days later had the beaver. I was surprised by the size of it.  Usually I am trapping beavers in Lake Union by the houseboats or Lake Washington. I left another trap in just to make sure that was it. I pulled it this morning.  We will be watching the remaining trees for new damage and have wire wrapped the important trees remaining. That's the story for now.
