Oak creek elk feeding.
« on: January 28, 2020, 09:49:07 AM »
Anyone know if the elk at Oak creek are being fed still?  Might make a trip over with the kiddos this weekend.

Was there yesterday. Saw 1 spike. I think they are now an endangered species?

Dropped by yesterday right before feeding. There were 3 branch bulls in the field with about 50 or so cows. Then roughly 60 or so started filtering down from their bowl, including two more branch bulls. Didn’t stick around to see if anymore came in.

How many calves in the group over there? How is the recruitment looking overall?

Swung in to look about 5 min ago. About 200 head. Plenty of calves. Was actually surprised at how many are there considering the lack of snow. Welfare cases😂
