Looks like a pretty solid run of Sockeye this year, any guess if they will increase the limit?

Should of already been upped. Rumor is WDFW doesnt want more people to pack in which would happen if upped.

I was out Friday. 5 person sockeye limit by 7am. Fished for kings the rest of the day with zero in the boat.

Should be going up this week; WDFW was waiting for a run count on the Wenatchee, so they could open the Lake at the same time as upping the limit.

It's official, limit goes to 4 starting Monday, along with opening the Lake Wenatchee Sockeye season.

Where is the announcement?  I didn't see it in emergency rules.

Its at the bottom of the home page....not sure why it isn't in the emergency rule section.

Slow out there today but the tribe had a huge boat with 3 tenders running a purse seine in the mouth of the okanagon and they were getting a ton running boats with totes back and forth didn’t know they could do that but my guess is increased limit for recreational fame to late

I didn’t know there was anything they couldn’t do. Probably not supposed to be just stripping eggs out and dumping carcasses either but it sure is the norm at least on some rivers like the Skagit

My guess is this weekend isn’t super crazy. Limit doesn’t increase until Monday.

Seems to be a lot of campers with boats in tow pulling out of town today.
Just tend your own and live.

The Colville Tribe is running the purse seine for two reasons, to collect Chinook Brood for the hatchery, and to harvest up to 10% of the Sockeye. The Sockeye number is big this year, and they probably won't come close to catching 34,000, but that is the harvest agreement with WDFW. As for Chinook, they only keep wild fish for brood, once they reach that number, all wild fish are released (only Tribe in the state that can say that). Bear in mind, without the Tribe's hatchery, there would be far less Chinook for us to catch.
