Crispi Junk!!!!!
« on: September 24, 2020, 11:25:17 AM »
Hope this is a place to share buyer beware for a product. I got talked into buying Crispi Oasi GTX for patrol boot. I buy Kenetrek for hunting and I should have stayed true to what I like. Buddy has liked the Crispi boots for hunting. The Oasi was a little less money and offer LEO discount so I tried. One week in my toes looked like garbage. The leather is soft and spongy and not cut out for a patrol boot at all. Been wearing quality boots for 20 years, these are not quality.

Customer service called me a toe dragger and said I need to pay a cobbler to put a better toe on my boots. Serious? I spend $250 on boots I should not have to then sent to cobbler.  Hahaha. Sorry but I have wore out plenty of quality  boots in my life and NEVER have I destroyed a toe like this. Had a pair of Danner Acadia that I got almost 3 years out of until tread was slick. Not comfortable boot but the toe is still smooth and shiny.

No help from customer support. I even offered a solution to let me send back and upgrade to Nevada  with the reenforced toe and I would pay difference in cost. Nope no dice.

Photos after a few shifts.

How the heck does that even happen? Bummer for sure, I also have not had good luck with their customer service. Turns out I can’t wear their boots anyways but that’s beside the point. You might be able to put that toe armor stuff on there and get some more life out of em but definitely sucks having to do that on a brand new pair

I bought a pair of those same boots and noticed the toes wearing rather quickly from light use at work, I usually put sho goo on my toes anyway so slathered them up and good so far.. I thought it was just me  :dunno:

Have you thought about going back to danner. I wore the Acadias for years and they where heavy and hard to break in but they lasted. I switched to the Rivot TFX and so far so good.

The danner acadia holds up incredibly well. No complaint there. Lots of years on acadias. Just thought I'd venture into comfort. I'll go back to acadia and a good insole or go to Kenetrek patrol after I sell a kidney. Lol

Danner Rivots are really comfortable. Way more than Acadias. Just a thought.

I'm a new Kenetrek fan..

Bought a pair in Clarks all sports, got the Kenetrek grease, then went to Idaho chasing elk with zero break in, just grease and go!

I figured my feet would be trashed, but not one blister!

This was day 1 on the Kenetrek boots

Impressive, as it was all up and down on elk trails and no blisters

(elevation is turned off unfortunately, since I turned off all the auto workout detection crap I lost that function)

Even if you were a toe dragger, how the hell would you do that to a pair of boots in a few outings without tripping and stumbling everywhere?

Ii don't get blisters in Kenetrek either. I even had a 24 mile in 18 hours day one time. The boots saved my life. MtMuley can vouch for that day. In fact it's his fault.

A lotta people praise the Crispi Nevada and Lapponia, but I've never seen anything like that. Sucks that their customer service didn't even offer to repair or something.

I had suggested I send back and pay difference to the Nevada as I hear it is better leather. Nope not an option.

Good to know that their customer service sucks...You can find Scarpa boots on Sierra Trading Post on sale all the time for less than $100. Crispi & Scarpa are very similar.

Old thread now, but I've had the Crispi Oasi and Guides.  Love the guides and will likely get some Nevadas too (same boot but not as tall.)  But wasn't impressed with Oasi boots.  Not at all the same build quality, to me.  And they fit different too.  I think they are less expensive too.

I spent the last 45 years buying different hunting boots. Some that I can remember are Herman Survivors, Danner, Georgia Boots and I am sure others way back when. I currently own some Scarpa Hikers and a pair of Kennetrek boots which I have had for multiple years. The Scarpas are very solid but are narrow. I have heard that alot of European boots are like that. I thought they would stretch with age but so far no go. I have looked at the Crispi boots and they look soft and not in the same league as the Kennetrek boots. Nothing so far has fit my feet like the Kennetrek boots. They have an instant omg from minute one and that has not changed over the years I have had them. I would like to try on both the White and the Hoffman boots.

I have Crispi Nevada and love them, wear in some pretty rough rocky country, as well as everyday work boot. So far been impressed with them, also have had most all the above mentioned boots except for the Whites. Probably second behind Crispi is the Scarpa for me.
