Making me consider a tikka a lot more now.  Good choice on the scope, drives me nuts to see guys try to trim every ounce off a rifle and clamp some 3lb monstrosity on top of it. The leupold 2.5-8 is one of my favorites…

in the meantime, i'll be cleaning my gun

Looking really nice.
I have Tikka 7mm mag. Put the limbsaver. On and it really tamed it down. Also an absolute tack driver.
I have the factory stock that I painted.  Before I put the limbsaver on I packed the butt of the stock full of plastic grocery bags. Added almost no weight and eliminated that hollow thumping sound when bumped against something
Someday I may add a metal bolt shroud.

Beautiful rifle, buddy. Thanks for the chrono on the upgrade.

I have pretty much the same set up you’re wanting to go with on my tikka t3x super light. I have the bc stock with all the mountain tactical stuff you’re wanting, the bottom metal the bolt stop and the bolt end cover. I also put a new trigger spring in from MT  as well because I felt the trigger in this tikka wasn’t as light as the older t3 that I have. Trigger is pretty sweet now. I’m a big fan of the bell and Carlson stock. It is a great fit for me and I love the way the gun feels. I’m surprised yours only weighed a few oz more than the factory stock. I didn’t weigh either of my stocks but the gun felt like it weighed a decent amount more after the swap. I was fortunate with the fit and finish on mine. It’s pretty much perfect. I’m pretty sure the mt trigger guard fit very well. I’ll have to look later this evening, but I don’t think I have that sharp down there from the guard sitting to deep into the stock. Love that gun. One of my favorites

This was the old T3 stock vs your T3x, and the Limbsaver definitely added a few ounces to the factory stock.

If you would check I'd appreciate it.

Fun to follow along.  Thanks for posting.  I did something very similar with a Weatherby Vanguard awhile back.  I had pretty much the same experience with the B&C stock.  Right away everything looks great, but then you notice little fit issues here and there.  Still better than a lot of factory stocks out there.  The B&C stocks are very receptive to a little filing and sanding to improve the fit.  A little Dremel work and some bedding compound and you may be able to "fix" the offset in the barrel.

It's a pretty big offset.  I might monkey with it a little, but don't think I could bring myself to carve out enough on the tight side to even it out.  You could lose empty brass in there!  :chuckle:  If it shoots and feels as well as I hope, I might build up the more open side a little with bedding compound and try to match the finish.  Or, just roll with it.  Every gun has its quirks.

Thanks for the feedback everybody.  I like reading about the process (warts and all) when other people mod up their guns, cars, fishing gear, whatever.  It helps take the uncertainty out of dropping a bunch of cash on certain upgrades I'm on the fence about.

Looks like the mt trigger guard sits down in the stock just slightly on mine too. Only on the back side by the grip.  Maybe not quite as much tho. Mine doesn’t feel very sharp or anything, plus my hand doesn’t even touch that part while I’m on the grip of the rifle. I never noticed that before. The rest of the bottom metal fits pretty flush tho.
