So you call your CC company and find out if they are using specific MCC codes for purchases of firearms. If they are, terminate that card and don't do business with them.  Go get another card that doesn't do that.  If anyone knows of a company that is doing that, post it up so we can boycott the *censored*s. I know if my CC company does that I would terminate that account immediately.
On a similar note, The Woke CEO of Kroger grocery stores has decided he will not permit gun magazines to be sold in his stores. Kroger would include Fred Meyer and QFC. Not sure which others.  I now drive past Fred Meyer on my way to Safeway or Albertsons. Won't do business with FM any longer.

All credit card companies agreed to the merchant code. Visa, Mastercard, AMEX, etc.  It's not a specific bank.  Its the brokers that create the credit:  Visa, Mastercard, etc.  There is no way around it......all credit cards will have that merchant code now.

It wasn't a new law. The credit card agencies agreed to adopt a new merchant code for credit card purchases at gun stores.   Back in September 2022.  Made the news at the time.  People that lobbied for it want it to be used by credit card agencies to flag suspicious gun purchases.  The anti-gun folks wanted it as a way to try to monitor and limit gun purchases.  But it's just a merchant code that tracks the amount of the expense.  Visa/Mastercard/etc. have no idea if it's a gun being purchased or what type of gun.   So it was a politically motivated change to add a merchant code to track expenses at stores that sell guns....but with no actual visibility to really do anything about it.....

I had read about this when it was first passed also. My understanding is that it was a separate category that would indicate that you had purchased a gun? Not what type of gun etc but the category did specify a firearm. as opposed to before when it was very general like outdoor stores etc. Looks like the alarmist might have been right if they are actually denying transactions. I hope not but I guess we will see.

Know a guy that got blocked buying a bullet mold. Got it to go through by calling, but got a call the next day asking if it was authorized and what it was for.
Not sure it is related, but he said it was 'odd'.

I’m sorry but here in 2023 I absolutely love it when my credit card gets blocked. Gives me a second chance to rethink my purchase lol. But I find it very comforting knowing my bank has the ability to block purchases if they find them suspicious. I would hate it if my identity got stolen and the first thing they did was go to cabelas and maxed out a credit card on guns and ammo. Meanwhile when I’m maxing out my credit card on guns and ammo. The bank just sends me a text or try’s to call me to confirm that I’m the dumb ass trying to spend all this money.

Feds want the digital currency. That way the corrupt FBI and DOJ can block anything. Now that bank runs have started let's watch the dominoes drop. Cash is king while it lasts. After that with digital currency the fed makes everyone slaves
