Canadian Salmon and Halibut Licenses
« on: July 24, 2023, 02:20:43 PM »
Headed to Neah Bay in early August and headed to Swiftsure (Weather permitting).

If the King and Halibut seasons are open in Canada, does anyone know what the current process is to purchase licenses?

I have heard you must go to Canada to purchase a Halibut License; however you can purchase daily salmon licenses online the morning of your planned trip.  Does this sound correct?

Would love some advice from folks who have done this as reading the regs has led to brain damage...

Talking about Canadian waters - I think it opened in April.

However I did some more digging and it looks like area 121 opened in April, but Swiftsure is closed.

It also kinda looks like all fishing is shut down on the Canadian side of Swiftsure due to a killer whale protection zone?  Vessle limitations as well.

Can anyone confirm?  as I said, I have brain damage from reading regulations...

Saltwater license and salmon stamp on line super easy..

Halibut for that area needs to be bought in person.

Tons of fish in close right now so not sure I'd even got out to Swift..for salmon at least..

There were people getting Canadian Hali licenses through a shop in Canada. The info was/is on Fred’s Neah Bay FB page.

The nice part is it was done over the phone and didn’t require a trip across the border.
