I drive the unit twice daily, and have been on 6-7 hunts with other tag holders. Exceptional will be difficult, (depending on your definition), but not impossible. There are a lot of people who will tell you 170" is about max, but that is not the case. 180+ deer don't just hang out in plain view, even when they are rutting.

This is my first post on HW, but I will help out with anything you want help with.
Colbasin, I'd love to pick your brain a bit. I'll send you my number

To answer your question, exceptional to me is 190"+. I've got a handful in the 80's and endlessly trying to drum up better.  I have a ton of time to dedicate to the tag and as I stated earlier, have no problem eating the tag if that's what it takes

This just proves that the drawing system is rigged! How did you get this tag! Who did you pay off!?

Here's something to get you motivated. From over a decade ago.

Following. Always wondered how the early desert tag was! Congrats and have a great hunt! I've been there a few times, make sure to mark the game reserves on your OnX. I couldn't find the maps on the WDFW, but a lot of people aren't aware of them until they hike/come across them.

Congrats man. Looking forward to following along.
Pain is temporary, achieving the goal is worth it.

Desert unit, there’s no desert unit in Washington, you must be confusing Arizona with Washington.🤣

Lots of pics will be cool to see.👍
