Just a reminder to everyone, with the full moon on the 15th, depending on cloud cover, deer activity will be strong at night. This typically means they won't be moving as much at first light. Midday however can be amazing for movement. Don't go in for lunch!!!

 :yeah:

:yeah: :yeah: some of my biggest bucks have been killed right in the middle of the day on full moons when everyone else had left the woods for lunch because "it was so slow".

First ....for most thanks 3nails for informational vids.
I've had some success rattling past day or two since my post.
Nothing harvested yet.
Definitely a believer now in rattling.
Taking my wife out tomorrow, try to rattle something for her.
I would encourage anyone on the fence to give it a try.

Rattled a spike in today, wife let him walk.
Definitely learning as I go.
He came out , sniffing and looking around for about 5min.
He busted us ,kinda ran back into the same thicket of trees.
I was hoping something bigger was gonna come out of that thicket.

I did rattle myself in a WT,notched my tag.
Epic failed on rattling in my wife a buck.
Towards the end of Washington modern season,I couldn't rattle in anything. Not sure why,too many other hunters,or bucks just not interested. Not sure.
Or I suck and just got lucky.
That's how my rattling season went.
Thanks again for helping other learn rattling skills

Question for all you rattle junkies: What makes a good rattling spot? I gave it a go a couple times this week with no luck, but I kept wondering to myself whether I was set up in a good spot (or not). Got me thinking, what do y'all look for when setting up to rattle?
