Seeing the fewest deer, elk, and moose on my property in 105 than I have in the 8 years I have owned it.  Nothing bigger than a 3pt WT.  Fawns can be counted on half a hand.  Often see a large cougar I would like an opportunity on.  Next trip I'll just concentrate on a packrat setting up an estate in the old storage cabin.

That's not good, hope those fawns make it through.

I went to a couple places by the house and got up in elevation from 2,600' to 3,000" - 4,000' and the deer seem to be healthy and doing well
I bet the mountain bucks are doing a little better because of the lack of “congestion” and possibly cooler temps and less bugs :dunno:

Yeah they seem to be much better. Lotta creeks and moving water compared to low land deer getting stagnant ponds and seeps . I know a guy in Winchester, Idaho which is 4,000’ said they found a ton of dead deer which he said was odd for ehd outbreak.

Agreed, also sad to hear about the Winchester area. Never have hunted it but my sons buddy has put time in there(10-15 years ago) has some nice pictures of previous hunts.

Just checked cams in unit 111 and had deer that I believe were infected with blue tongue. Multiple deer with their mouth area swollen but I am no expert on the disease. Sorry about pic quality. Nice buck but only pic I have of him. Never returned. Also had does looking the same. When I saw the first pics of does I thought what the hell is wrong with their mouths. Then I did a little research and came to the blue tongue conclusion. This was at 3,500 feet elevation. Curious what others think.
Just one more day

Heard quite a few people are not going to hunt their youth doe tags or doe tags in general - to give them a chance. Not a bad idea actually

We generally host a few youth in Spokane area for their 1st deer. Unfortunately we had to cancel allmthe hunts as the area has been decimated.

I have a buddy that is a large farming family in the Palouse.....he said they have been hit very hard.  Dead deer laying everywhere.  The Palouse is a huge area so maybe certain areas are being hit harder than others.  Our cabin in Stevens County appears to be doing well.  I have yet to find a dead deer in our area.

My property and the thousands of acres we have access to are mostly in 8.
Daily visible deer numbers are down.
We haven't started busting brush yet to see how bad it is... almost don't want to..had some good bucks running around this year.

We haven't seen any today on our property.  Do have a picture of a 2x2 whitetail that looks like he was attached by a cat or possible shot by a archery hunter that but his belly open.  Hope I see him this weekend to see if he is struggling.  If so, we will put a tag on him even though he isn't what we would normally shoot this early.

I found two more dead bucks last week while helping a friend with muzzy elk. S/W Spokane county. That’s four on one property since September.
