Idaho Non-res hunt draw

With the draw application period approaching, are you gonna purchase the nonresident license for $185 (nonrefundable) or save ya money and not risk it?

Risk the $185 buying the license, with no guarantee you'll get pulled for a tag.  The out of state procedure is different starting this year.

Im out, its not that great of a state to jusify the price...alot of these tags are gona jump to 3-4 year wait...pluss the cost and it wont take long to price themselves out... for instance idaho whitetails is roughly a 2-3k trip as is...your average good buck is gona be 120 inches..add in app costs and the wait times...i think im good...i will go else where

The exclusivity makes people think things are better then they are

I agree, but keep in mind we are talking “General” tags. Also, I believe Idaho has the most expensive NR License cost just to play the game.

I am sitting this year out, and will do a different out of state hunt. Not saying I won’t jump back in at some point, but I wanna see what the odds end up being.

I think these are the exact reactions Idaho wants.
Reduce the pool some.... And they'll still sell all the tags...
The mass influx of people wanting to hunt Idaho got a little absurd the last few years... :twocents:

I don’t know they really care about reducing the pool, and I don’t think anyone knows how big the pool really was. Could have solved almost all the issues by going online only, and making you log in first before joining the queue.

Kind of obvious I thought. Risk $185 at a less than a 1% chance to draw a tag. At least that's the chances I foresee. I'm sure they'll sell out but it seems a lot of folks think they'll receive a "point" if not selected and that's not the case

Most states give you a point though lol. I'm glad they're not playing the points game

Nah, the want that $185 per pop and as many as they can collect. Money in their pocket.  They know they'll sell

I'm really curious to see how many people apply for the Unit 1 tags since I know the CWD scare had that had them trying to wipe out the deer lol.
Between that and EHD/blue tongue it'll be interesting.

Yes, it will be interesting to see the apps. With no skin in the game, everyone was in the waiting room. And I’m sure majority on multiple devices.

No deer left in the panhandle, don’t apply 😂
If you shoot the first one you will never get that true trophy.
