FOB over fletching

I tried 'em.  They flew as good as my fletches but not better.  In the end I'm not using them because they were slower for me to get an arrow nocked on the string, slower to be ready to hit the range and I like being able to shoot groups without breaking FOBs.  If I'd given it more time I'm sure I could have adjusted to them.

The off season is the best time to try fobs. Paul Morris still has a 2 for 1 deal on Archerytalk. thats for off colored neon green fobs. They shoot the same as the regular priced fobs. but Paul has strict Quality control standards. If he see's any color bleed through from a previous color casting. he pulls it off the line. Instead of getting one tube you get two tubes for the price of one. I broke 2 Fobs last year from Practicing and none from hunting. I shoot through haybales and a old glendel rut buck. the fobs pop off on to the ground. So i can still shoot groups and save fobs. But fobs are not eggshells, They can take a beating. The porblem some people have is that they hurry the set up and don't follow the easy steps to shoot fobs and get odd shots from fobs. I was one of them. Now fobs are being seen and winning at ASA tourneys and I know a few guys heading for the IBO Tourneys. I.B.O. will be reviewing the regs on Hunter class to see if they can allow fobs in hunter class. Due to the overwhelming growth with Fob Shooters. Thats more members for them. it just makes sense in this economy.

I'm with huntingfool7 on the FOBs.  I have some and they fly good but I like shooting vanes better.  I don't like where the fob hits my chin at anchor and I also don't like the sound they make.  I also like to shoot groups and the fobs don't hold up well to that.    I will try them with broadheads soon but I haven't had any problems with Blazers steering my Montecs so I don't think there will be any advantage there.

well, I got them in the mail last week and shot a few. then I shot the blazers. after warming up, I shot a blazer then a fob, and repeat. they shoot just fine out of my set up. I didn't have to change anything.
With that being said, I will not be shooting the fob's from here on out. They shoot exactly 3.5" lower than my blazers. I'm pretty sure I don't have to explain what that means. I'm not afraid to try something new as long as it improves what I'm already doing, in this case it didn't.
