My first buck at age 19
«
on:

I've been hunting since I was 14 and this was the first buck I've had a shot at here in Washington. He's a 5x7 muley that I shot South West of Cle Elum opening morning of 2009. He's got about a 24- 25 inch spread and his hanging weight was 174lbs.

Very nice buck, congrats on your first one, may there be plenty more that follow in his footsteps.

No, no, no. You did it all wrong. You have to shoot a dink as a first one, that way, there's nowhere to go but up. Like me, I shot a 2" spike when I was a kid as my first buck. Never shot a smaller one!

Congrats on a fine animal. Good to see a good smile when posing and not degrading the animal by riding him or picking him up. Definately a bench mark for you to shoot for in your future hunts.
