I'm putting in for moose and sheep in MT. I see they cut back on a lot of areas to where us out of staters can't even put in. The moose area I've applied for the last several years changed from 10 to 8 permits.

I have been researching the unlimiteds for a few years now. I am planning a hunt next year. this is the put money in my pocket year

For guys who got what it takes and can do the research the unlimited tags might not be a bad option, at least you'll be hunting sheep, just don't get eaten by a grizz while you are out there.

Putting in for sheep only. Have done it since they started points. Have not decided on the unit yet. Wish montana had set aside tags for non res so we would know what our real chances are.

There is alittle more to it than that the tags are allocated by region and there is a maximum number per region..

...and isn't it 'up to' 10% of the total or something like that?... which means its possible that 0 tags go to NR's.  There's just a max allocation.
