Looking for some advice on Bows to stay away from ?

Like others on this site I'm looking for a new bow too.  Checked out a few shops so far in Everett, Mount Lake Terrace, Mt Vernon, Long View etc.  So far have only been given some advice to stay away from Diamond bows because they may not honor their warranty issues.  There are so many good bows out there it's going to be tough to choose.  That's why I'm kinda asking the reverse.  Which ones would you stay away from ?

Diamond is made by Bowtech.  I don't have trouble with them honoring the warrenty

There are a lot of good bows out now.  I think if you stick with a good name brand like hoyt,mathews, bowtech,pse I think you will do just fine but I have to add I have never seen a limb on a hour break.

the bows i will trust my life to are pse, but also like matthews and hoyt i own about 8 brands of of bows right now and none are bad but those are the three i like the most the only one i will not own is bowtech i have seen way to many come into pro shops in parts and had one come apart on the practice line next to me as well i am not a fan

I have two Diamond bows, one I bought in 05 a Diamond Rapture, dropped it out of a tree stand from about 20 feet   , looked  it over real good, seemed ok except fot the bottom limb sticker got messed up a little. Shot it for a couple weeks after that with no problems, and one day while at the range I noticed a hairline crack in the bottom limb about 3" long. I took the bow to the bow shop in town on a Tuesday morning, I told them about the tree stand incident and that I shot it for a couple weeks after that, The next day I get a call around lunch time from the bow shop letting me know my bow was fixed, I thought theres no way  . After work I went to the bow shop to pickup my bow, the archery guy told me that diamond overnighted new limbs and everything was taken care of no charge to me 

I know first hand their service is top notch.

Thanks guys, this is the kind of input I was looking for.  I want my next purchase to be based on preference to my specs and didn't want to have to worry about some hidden pitfalls that might have been out there.

You own 8 brands of bows right now?  THAT. IS. AWESOME.

I'm totally jealous.  I own 2 Mathews but, if I had my way, I'd also own a PSE, HOYT and (I know that you've seen some bad things happen with Bowtech in the archery shop but I'd still like to have one) the Bowtech Destroyer 340.

By the way, I settled on the Mathews Z7 a couple of weeks ago.  Just my preference - I'm not a Mathews guy, per se, and I would buy whatever worked best for me, but this bow just really fit me well.

yeah its cool but part of my business a lot of bowfishing bows as well. the only bowtech i like is the destoryer 340 but i don't think i could ever buy one. and my wallet does not think it is that awesome o and i forgot about the myles and new elite so it is 10 brands i have right now and i think total is 14

Stay away from all of them. Bow hunting is a bad habit. BTW I have 2 Mathew's.

No bad bows out there,IF You like and shoot it well!!I am tired of all the bow bashing,shoot one and have fun bowhunting!!!

Diamonds warranty is awesome.  Best idea is to go shoot a bbunch of them,  all different makes and models,  then pick the one that you think is best.  Of course in my opinion stay away from any that have training wheels... LOL  Recurve and longbow is the only way to go!

All brands have thier problems, some less than others, get the one that feels and shoots best to you and you will have fun. I have owned nothing but bowtech and diamond and never had one issue. I like ALL bows really. With my short draw length I wanted a little more speed but still wanted an easy to shoot bow and my destroyer fits that perfectly. The Diamond Iceman I had is probably the quietest least shock bow on the market.
