Lost our buddy yesterday....
« on: August 11, 2010, 06:12:53 AM »
We lost our lab yesterday to a freak accident, our boxers lower jaw got caught in his collar and strangled him..I came home from work and found them still stuck together..he was the perfect lab, never rowdy like most when they are young he was always very mellow until you picked up a stick or ball then he was ready to go..still cant believe he's gone...

Very sorry to hear about the loss of your companion!!!

WOW, that is tough. I am truly sorry. Keep the kids busy over the next few days to keep their minds off from it. Well heck, maybe this is a good time to teach them about life and death.

RIP doggy

So Sorry to hear this! Same happened to my lab when I was 7. Playing with neighbors golden.

Choke collars only on dogs folks- or no collars and microchip! Throw away every flat collar you own. Only use them when training or in the field to wear tags under supervision. This happens more often than folks think to playmates left alone.

RIP Gunner!

I'm sorry, my condolences to you and the family.  I couldn't imagine losing my pup.  :'(

I've heard of this happening to another dog and I make sure to only use collars when needed and supervised.  We have two dogs and they tend to get a little crazy wrestling.  Again my condolences to you and the Family.  He/She was a great looking pup.

I'm so very sorry for your loss.  We (my girlfriend and I) recently had to put down her little cocker beagle mix that was over 15 years old and was a truly awesome dog.  It was a difficult decision for us but the cancer took over his internal organs and he started refusing to eat so it was time.  It still hurts bad.

Losing one to a freak accident like you did must be about as hard as it can be.  My thoughts and prayers go out to your buddy, your family, and you.
