If you read threw and do a few searches under this area, there is a ton of info on all three guns here.  I own both a t/c black diamond xr "no longer made" and a cva elkhorn. My cva is my go to gun, i changed the sights and have been super happy with it. The new t/c has a slower rate of twist that is 1:48 if i remember right. Most guns now have a 1:28" twist. I bought a vorteck and had it go off when it was loaded, without me touch the gun. Scared the heck out of me. Took it back and got my money back on it. Some people like them, and others have had problems.

My favorite is my T/C black diamond xr. Do you know why they discontinued them.

Probably just didn't sell enough of them to make it worthwhile, I guess, since only people in Washington, Oregon, and Idaho would have a need to buy them. But, now they came out with the NW Explorer, so I don't know.   :dunno:

I do find it weird how the Traditions Vortek NW can fire without touching anything. The hammer sits at an "at rest position. Essentially it looks like a half-cock position. When at full cock, there is a spring that drives the hammer forward. I know Duh...There is also a light spring which pulls the hammer back to the half cock position. In other words, the spring keeps a little bit of pressure against the hammer from falling. I can't see how the gun can "go off." In addition, there is another safety on the trigger guard that locks the movement of the hammer. Again, I can't see how it can go off. I LOVE my TRaditions Vortek NW. Caaries well, shoots great and it's just plain fun. To each his/her own.
You can't fix stupid.

Almost forgot. Got mine at Cabelas and the experience went well and several customers and a few staff thought I bought the best ML on the rack. My favorite until now was a T/C. However, their new NW has issues in my humble opinion. Check the trigger location in the trigger guard and try to pull the hammer back with a heavy pair of gloves on.
You can't fix stupid.

The main spring failed, and when the spring failed the hammer dropped. ;) I think the guys telling you this "which if i remember right on this site alone is 5" are pretty creditable ;)
