What the heck are rattle snake shots? Do you give them yourself or the vet?

lol, rattle snake shots are for bird dogs or dogs that are around rattle snakes and they get 2 shots the first year and then one every year after that, my dogs vet, Randy Hein at Eastmont Animal Clinic in East Wenatchee WA tested the shots to the full by taking his nine year old lab to texas and put it in front of a huge rattler and allowed it to get bit in the neck... there was soo much venom comming out of the the puncture holes that he wasn't sure what would happen but all that happened is his dog got a little swelling and his lab is still up and kickin pretty hard... the shots cost $75 a year and for having my dogs out in the field and loving them as much as I do I think they are worth the $75 a year to keep them safe.....

Interesting, I'll have to run that by my vet. Sounds like something I might be interested in. Thanks for the info.

yeah no problem I really appreciate my vet for recommending it to me.  I did all 3 of my dogs and I don't regret it at all, a little out of my new hunting fund that my girlfriend has no idea about but you know what, I can put more back into it soon....  I call it cheap insurance for you best friend in the whole world... thanks for allowing me to give out good info and thank you for all of the great compliments on the pups, if anybody is interested in getting a weim, my best friend is breeding them and they are $600 a pup and they come papered with GREAT  blood lines. just send me an e-mail or write me on here... thanks everybody!!!!!
