Where to get wings
« on: May 19, 2008, 09:50:06 AM »
My dad just got a new Springer pup yesterday. Both parents are registered and have great lines. We want to get her focused on birds right away. Anyone know the best place to get pheasant or grouse or any kind of game bird wings? I have some turkey feathers that she is interested in, but I don't think she will be hunting turkeys :P Or if anyone has a couple in the freezer they want to sell that would be great too.
Thanks!

I do know that Cabelas sells them or you can get them on Ebay.

I've got half a dozen duck/goose wings in the freezer (actually some are whole birds). Free for the taking if you want. PM me. ryan

Thanks guys! My neighbor has some duck and geese wings, but thanks for the offer :) Chuckar Ridge has offered me up some feathers so I think I got a good start. I'll have to hit up SW and take a look too.

MuleySniper,

You might try contacting someone at one of the Springer clubs.  They have hunt tests all the time and they use chukar and pheasant for the tests.  I would think that they would have some leftovers.  If you go out after one of the trials or tests, you can usually find some birds.  Here is a link to one of the clubs.......you might consider emailing someone there: http://www.wwessc.org/
