Agree 100% 257 wby mag.

I like the flat shooting I get from the 7mm-08 and can get into 140-150 grain bullets for any animals out there. Kinda a happy middle place.

Never had a 7/08, like to try one. Mommas got a 260, great little gun. Got a 358 and 243 in the stable too.

The 243 is too small 4 deer, and barely enough for the small dogs.

You're on the right track. It doesn't sound like you need any advice from anyone on here.

 :yeah:

Don't forget the 25 souper....(25-08).  But I guess it doesn't count since it is still a wildcat.
May I always be the kind of person my dog thinks I am.

:)243 knocks coyotes down HARD, much more than my 22-250 and is just as flat. I shot a few deer with it one buck was laying down looking at me about 200 yards, his body was pointed at me, I shot him in the front of the neck just under his muzzle, the 80 grain bullet flipped him clear over on his back, legs sticking up in the air and not even a tiny kick of his feet.
I am real happy with it, very effective on both.
