I figured I would start a thread on here to help track my Idaho Moose hunt this fall similar to what I did when I had the Watershed tag in '09.  Those of you that are interested can follow along.

I drew an any bull tag for Unit 6.  My goal is to harvest a mature bull that makes the B & C book...  Minimum 140.

Here is a pic of one of the bulls I will be after.  It was caught on trail camera last august and seen after that.  We are pretty sure he made it through the winter.

Will this be a pack in hunt with horses or are you relatively close to roads? Good luck to you.

Wow, great starting point!  I'm looking forward to following along - good luck!

Is 140 the 5 year book?

Hard to tell from that angle, but that bull in the pic should be well north of 140".  Congrats on the tag.
I didn't say it was your fault, I said I was blaming you.

This bull would be a pack in hunt.  But living only 2 hours away from Unit 6 - I will have most of the summer to spend scouting.  I'll go wherever I need to go.

My guess is that he is much bigger than 140.  Closer to 160.  But just my guess.

I believe that it is.  All time entry is 155.

Sweet, I got a 142 and change.  The bull in your picture looks bigger - I don't think you'll have a problem with that one.

Very cool!  Can't wait to see what you come out with.  Yes, that bull is well above 140", he looks like a Yukon.

Right on, I will be following this thread to check out your progress.  The watershed elk hunt was a great one, so I am sure this one will be as well.

I went back and looked at your Watershed Thread from 09 (looks like I wasn't the only one) to refresh my memory.  That was a great bull.  What did he wind up scoring?

I hunted elk in unit 6 in 2005, and both deer and elk in 2007 and 2008.

I have some pointers, where i have seen some big bulls.  Mostly reprod areas that aren't far from the road or behind locked gates.  Lots of Mooose in that uit.  Let me know if you want some advice.
