You can't go wrong with the Montecs,  one season one blade, 2 elk and one deer. The next year one elk. The year after gone into the wild blue yonder 6 inches over the back of a deer.

I used to shoot muzzy but after two seasons I switched. It seems like it you rub them across a branch they go dull. Never have used the g5's but here they are pretty good. i switched to the t lock shuttle and love them, will nwver switch back! shot a cow with the same broadhead 2 years in a row :twocents:

I shot muzzys for a while before switching to G5 Montecs. The most important thing is going to be figuring out what flies best out of your setup. That being said, I prefer the Montecs. The muzzys are a bit sharper but the blades are not as tough and they didn't fly as well for me as the Montecs. Is also recommend checking out G5 strikers. Sharper than muzzys with a thicker blade. Just my 2 cents.

Montec's are the way to go!  I used muzzy's when I first started bowhunting.  After several bent and broken blades, that was enough for me.  My montec's have performed flawlessly, and I like the fact that it's a solid one piece design.  Eliminates room for error!

G5's hands down for me. Best Fixed blade out there to me.  Shuttle T's would be my second choice.

The Stryker has a fantastic blade if you are thinking replaceable blades.  Darned good people to support as well.

If you go Muzzy go with the small 4 blade.  They are sharper and stay sharper than the three blade models.  Montec is a good flyer, but the MIM process will never produce as fine an edge as the Stryker or the Muzzy 4 blade.

All fine products, but I'd bet my trophy on the Stryker before any of the others.

Just like some of the other guys I shot the Muzzy's but switched to the Montec mostly because it flies the best right out of the box.

ALthough it was many years ago, I tried Muzzy, put them to the spin tester, and was totally unimpressed......never tried them again.  G5 products spin perfect for me, and that is important to me.  R

:chuckle: Helps to be in the business. Have already put 5 on the board for this year. Hope to add 2-4 more for the year. I have shot just about every broadhead legal here. From traditional heads to the newest of broadheads. I trust my hunts with the power of the montec

Yeah, I made the mistake of leaving the killing business and getting into the building things business.  Easier on the back and better for my wallet.  But, every time I get a government call for a cull hunt, someone asks me to guide a bear hunt or friends leave for the Clear Lake shoot I curse the decision.  Marraige didn't help much either.  Glad to know there are a few left out there living the dream!

I have shot both.  They have both worked great.  The muzzy's blades are usually bent when they hit bones if you can locate the arrow afterwards.  I had a little whistling issue with Montec and I picked up a new bow and haven't noticed it to bad as of late.  I practice with 6 Montec G5's, but screw on new ones for hunting in order to have sharp blades.  If they get dull you may have issue putting down the animal quickly.     Keep them sharp.
Cut em!
It's not the shells!  It's the shooter!

I used 4 blade 90 grain muzzys for years and they killed alot of animals, changed to the G-5's in 09 and have killed 2 elk, I like the montecs better because of there 1 piece design and they are easy to sharpen.
