Whenever my hunting buddies, and I buy broadheads, we buy the cheapest that we can find. They get the job done. It may run fifty more yards, but we have dropped deer with. I will drag a deer just a little further for a few extra bucks.

If you are looking for a solid cheaper broadhead. Get the innerloc broad heads. 6 pack for like 30.00 I am pretty sure the owner of innerloc designed muzzys broadhead. Then went out on his own. I have shot them and they are a very good head. Still can't beat my montecs.

I bought some years ago, and sent them back.  Wrong place to save a few bucks IMHO. :bdid:

I talked to a Guy that got a pack and shot a deer with one and said it was the worst broadhead he every shot.   The thing was in pieces after he found it in the deer.

Nope, I've never shot the Cabela's brand broadheads.  Broadheads are one area I agree with many others, wrong part of the set-up to try and save money.  Cheaper release, cheaper stabilizer, even lesser expensive sights are fine in my book.  But cheap broadheads, arrows or rest are not the place to save money.  Remember, the broadhead is the business end of the whole set-up.
I didn't say it was your fault, I said I was blaming you.

Same here.  I buy what I consider the best.   Magnus Stingers.   They are guaranteed for life.  There are many other things I'd scrimp on before the broadhead.

My neighbor had one fall apart when he shot a cow (elk) with it a few years ago.  He ended up getting it with a second arrow but vowed never to use the Cabelas broadheads again.

Make sure that those work well...

A guy that lives down the street from me had a cheap Cabelas (or it might have been Allen) release and it developed a burr on the caliper.  He pulled back on a 4 point, pulled the trigger and nothing happened.  He Wiley Coyote'd it and when he went to look at what was going on with the release, the bow went off and shot the arrow about 30 feet above the buck's head.  Weirdly enough, he just filed the burr off and kept using it.  I would have built a big fire and burned the piece of #@(@.

Anyway, the point is to buy decent stuff.  Doesn't mean you need to spend every last dime you have on it but don't buy the bargain basement stuff, either.

dont skimp , I bought a set of cheep'os a few years back and had my arrow deflect off a doe  quartering  away shot at 40 yards, worked out well for me though as she ran off a nice good eatin spike walked out from behind the brush pile, exact same angle and yardage, my muzzy blew right through...

Ok so it sounds like they are garbage.  I was just curious if they were a quality broadhead for a little cheaper.  This is why I asked on here was to get opinions.  I will continue to kill with my muzzy's  :chuckle:

I have magnus broadheads for the recurve, and have killed elk with them out of a compound, but I highly recommend the muzzy, they are usually 30$ or a bit more for 6. made in USA, Every batch gets one head shot into a steel 55 gallon drum-if the blades break-they go back for being too hard, if they fold over, they go back for being too soft.. Ive seen some of the muzzys with the edges resharpened and used on deer after deer (in florida you can take 2 deer a day). some of the new broadheads like slick trick with the steel ferule may be better, but they are also twice the price...

As I understand it he designed the equipment to slot the Muzzy ferrules but was not the designer of the head.

$50,000.00 for new 4X4 truck
$3.95 gallon for fuel at 12mpg
$895.00 for new bow
$130.00 dozen arrows
$100.00 arrow Rest
$90.00 bow quiver
$125.00 bow sight
$225.00 game camera
$75.00  trigger release
$70.00 stabilizer
10 scouting trips and weeks of hunting

And when that bull of a lifetime is standing 30 yards
away the only thing that actually puts him on the ground
humanely and creates the blood trail to find 300# of the
finest protein God ever put on this earth......Too darn expensive! :bash:

I'd rather see guys buy the best dang broadhead they can afford and get everything else from the "Bargain Cave".  It would buy a lot less "Man Ego" points, but A LOT more "Respect for the animal" points.

The time is almost here!!!  Pick a spot, keep'em sharp, be safe and have fun.

He asked, Do you ever give a short simple answer?  I replied, "Nope."
