When I lived in Central California in the 70's we had a big Shepard / rot mix & was a big ass dog. About dark the yotes would come up and scream for him and he would tear ass off of the front porch. He would come home in the morning worn out. We saw plenty of yotes that were a little bigger with rot eye brows. That was the best damn dog I've ever seen or heard about since. Loyal, loving, protective he had it all. Apparently he just liked to get a little wild puss ? Who am I to criticize.  :chuckle:

I've been thinking of that dog since I posted, I miss that dog.

:dunno: Not a full blooded coyote for sure.  I lean towards a hybrid, but it could just as easily be a dog.

Don't look like any yote I've ever seen.... I guess it could be a hybrid, but I think it's your garden variety Heinz 57 mix with Shepard in it.

Sure looks like a dog to me!  Probably calling it a Coyote to cover their Ass for shooting it!

I saw the all black coyote around my place again yesterday evening and this morning.  It was really tough not shooting it but it is so pretty that I want to wait until it has its winter coat.

The one I took a shot at with my bow a few weeks back is all black. Ugly and mangy looking fellow.
