New Goose Blind.....easy as 1,2,3...
« on: October 26, 2011, 02:09:29 PM »
Thought I'd share this with you guys. Our blind is against a fence. Put 4 PVC Conduit poles through the fence. One across the front. Zip tied Jute erosion fabric to the posts then, bundled and zip tied grass on top of that. Use a bungee to hold it down. Undo the bungee and it springs up out of the way. Need to cut the ends shorter but, thats about all. No luck today, geese weren't out to play.....

fits four easy. took about 15-20 minutes to camo it out...

Fence rows with lots of vegitation always seem to work well.  It should get you a few birds.
Cut em!

It's a regular spot with grass grown in around the chicken wire for a few years. Just did the top for an improvement this year. Its a good spot. Having the roof on it should help alot with later season birds who are more weary.

Nice! But you know what happens to PVC when it freezes :yike: You move it and it explodes and shatters like glass :yike: Doesn't matter if you use sched 80 or not. Good luck  :dunno:

get a day off during the week when it opens back up......

I worried a little about PVC freezing. It isn't stressed all that much so, just hoping it holds. If not, plan "B" was to shorten the lengths then just us a "post" zip tied to the fence in front of the blind and zip tie it to the crossmember piece.

The jute erosion matting costs about $50 a roll for 4' x 225'. It is way better looking than anything you can buy commercially and is cheap so, you don't like it, cut it off...biodegradeable too...just toss it in your wood pile and burn it or let it rot. PM me and I'll set you up with where to buy it cheap if you'd like a roll.

Here is a little closer view of the fabric attached to the insides of the blind-
