Am I going to be OK without a boat? You can't hunt elk from a boat, so I don't have one.
Sure you can.  There are a few places where you can fish for steelhead AND hunt elk at the same time by boat. 8)
Happens all the time in the Colockum.  :chuckle:

Rasbo, whats up? Hope it isn't serious. We will make it again this year. I have a boat and could put a person or two with us. Flying marshmallows and the likes of you guys :o wife and girls had a blast and can't wait to get back. It won't be right over there without you Rasbo. If you can't make it, who are you going to trust with your secret fish fry recipe? :salute: :cue: Plans will start to firm up as it gets a bit closer. Hell, even if you can't fish 4 out of your boat, you could transport some folks up the river and let them bank fish.

You should be ok, no problem.
By my honorable conduct as a hunter let me give a good example and teach new hunters principles of honor, so that each new generation can show respect for their god, other hunters and the animals, and enjoy the dignity of the hunt.

Yea, the water gets pretty skinny for a bit going up the palouse.. 12 - 16 in. deep.

If you run up the snake to the mouth of the tuccanon it;s good fishing and deep and you can fish spots all the way backdown a lot of guys run up to fish smallmouth and it;s deep all the way they fish in about 25 feet of water off the river mouth.

I ran a 21' boat up the river last year. 150 yamaha with a prop on it. run it wide open, trimmed all the way up and you can scoot thru a foot and a half of water with no problem. it is a bit concerning the first time you do it. the bottom is nothing but mud, no rocks to worry about. I did drag once while going too slow and churned up some nice chocolate milk behind me. if your boat is set up right, you only need as much water as the distance from the skeg to the cavitation plate on the motor.
