Anybody else draw a late muzzle loader tag in the Yale unit and need a hunting partner?

You have a tag that can have some real good potential with the right weather.  Congrats.

You should not have put in for the hunt, You just took the tag away from my hunting buddy!!  I hope you get a good bull durring the general season that way  I'll have less people to see.  good luck.

Crazymofo don't take this wrong, but why exactly are you upset.  That Yale tag can be just as good as a Margaret or Toutle tag given some weather.  I've seen some really nice bulls in that unit over the years and would love to have that tag.  If you are upset about losing your points on it, you shouldn't have put in for that tag in the first place.  The Yale tag is a great hunt in my opinion and can be drawn regularly with lower points.   :twocents:

In reply to rack attack. I guess i do sound a little ungrateful.  Not what i intended to do. Its always fun getting drawn for stuff. I just haven't heard much about this yale tag and the little i have heard hasn't been that good.  People keep saying hope for weather. Im assuming they are talking about snow...?  Ive also heard that its thicker than dogs hair and not much access.  Anyone know about it? never been there.

Only spent a few days in there... In places it is thicker than anything you have seen before. If you put your time in you should do just fine. Yes hope for snow. Last year my buddy and his kids had that tag 5 tags and none were filled. There was alot of snow and you couldn't get up high at all.

I have hunted the unit for year's doing very well during the late  draw season, and the early season.  One thing that I will say is that you have to get off the road and hunt the brush. The snow will help the hunt but the rain is just as good. After the first week all the people that put in for the tag just to get a cow will eather be tagged out or will give up by then.  We have taken a nice 5x5 or 6x6 every year that I have hunted in the unit early or late. you just have to be slow and hunt one step at a time. And ( keep your powder dry)!!!!
