I've been a fan for about four decades!  Carried a Winchester saddle gun while guiding years ago.  I once finished off a 250# wounded bear for a client at about 120 yards with it.  Put a nickle sized hole through it's heart and ended up flush against the hide on the other side.  That poor bear never took another step.

In Arizona where the rabbits are the size of Javalina it's a fantastic round.  Even legal down there to shoot Javalina with rimfire magnums.

My only gripe is the cost to feed it. Its not a 410 for crying out loud.

seems we agree, have used one for years, however all the glamour goes to the 17HMR. Plenty fast but not my first choice. I also have an affection for the Winchester 40 gr. hollowpoint in the 22 mag.

LOL! I can't believe what a box of 410 costs!! As for the .22 mag, I have a chipmunk in one. Fun gun to shoot especially with the peep sight!

I have a 17HMR myself, imagine that. It sure does a number on whistle pigs. I buy whatever Big R has on sale when I'm near one. Those little vermin ain't to fond on either caliber.

I've had a Marlin 925M for years and it has taken it's share of Rockchucks and a hand full of coyotes. It is wicked accurate with CCI Maxi-Mag +V's. The rifle is as basic as it gets, one of those ones that you aren't concerned about and really don't care where or how they ride in a rig, it's been a good quick access truck rifle.

I have killed Coyotes with the .22 Mag stone dead out to 120-140 yards. I have killed some coyotes faster with a .22 Mag than I have with a .270 Win and a 110gr V-Max.
