This goes along with with Rowland attempt to end beaver trapping in this state. Something like 90% of beaver translocated by the WDFW were killed by cougars.

I too am suspicious of the Methow Beaver Project but how is this certification not a good thing for WCOs ?  West-side WCOs already have some customers who would pay extra for beaver to be relocated.

I've found that 2800 fps helps relocate them better!!

  You are probably right about them but, again, how is getting certified to transport and relocate beaver a bad thing ?

Me personally will not help with this as they are ( beavers northwest and the the methow beaver project are lead by the very same people that has harassed our fellow trappers in Winthrop and are pushing to make it illegal to trap them on public SOOOOO they can kick rocks wearing flip flops

I would encourage trappers to relocate beavers to streams inside the city limits of liberal city’s and developments near Seattle. When they start using the poles holding up their internet connections to make a dam we can all step in and remind them not to interfere with wild animals in their habitat

Mixed feelings, Not happy with some of the people in the relocation business. On the other hand, if I were a little closer, I would probably go to see what is involved. I've never liked the idea of killing stuff in the summer so I don't see anything inherently evil in moving a beaver. Might surprise you how many guys have told me they used to do it before the government got involved and told them they couldn't. Now of course it is OK again with the required volumes of red tape applied.

I have thought about going.  I am sure their "experts" will be sharing faulty info.  That has been my experience with the limited interactions I have had.  I though it could be entertaining to go shoot holes in there info, but would probably be more frustrating than anything.  I am sure any downstream press would be accurate too....NOT!!!

I know a guy who is thinking of going. He wants to find out where they will be relocating the beavers for next years beaver line.

Oh looking at where they will hold "Their Class" it's all about the "Indians" relocating beaver not really you !
What they want from you are the Free Beaver.

I would go but I can see it's about the Indians and the Methow Valley people.  It's not really about us/you.

My question would be "Just how many beavers are we/they going to relocate; one, 10, 100, 1,000, maybe more ?? at what number do you say STOP ??
And why stop lets keep relocating to the "End of Time."

Plus where are they going to put "all" of them?
Where is "That "Perfect Habitat" that can hold "all of them" and who is going to profit $$$ $$$ $$$ $$$ from it?  I'm pretty sure you can answer that one.

I'm  not sure that's true but I was told they determine release areas. That may be their relocation projects?

We'd trapped a raccoon in our backyard several years ago and called the Region 5 office to see where we should release it. They told us we couldn't release it and would need to put it down. Something to do with the possibility of spreading diseases. IDK.

All animals that are trapped because of being a nuisance MUST be euthanized on said property…. According to the law

The class I took said they'd look the other way if you would remove the animal and euthanize it elsewhere.

Operating in the grey area isn't my thing so I only do select jobs outside the city limits now.

Back in the day we had a lot more options. Not enough money in it around here to buy the CO2 equipment.
