After years of applying and helping a few others with tags in the mean time I finally get to carry my own tag around....don't mind that it's a cow tag ...all the meat without the hassle of all those antlers Have a pretty solid game plan in place. I helped my buddy get a bull in the unit a few years ago so got some jump off spots. If any of the bull tags holders are on here I'm willing create a contact and share any Intel on bulls we run across throughout the season...LMK...
After 20+ years of putting in I finally drew one of the coveted Bull tags in this unit for the early hunt and I would love any helpMaking good on it. I’m still in a little shock after all the years of letdowns.

Anyone ever tell you you look like the Macho Man Randy Savage?
That is a bummer, Greg, was wondering how you did. Pretty sure that I would have got a text if you were successful.
That sucks budIt’s sad as you stated to wait 20 + years and put in the effort and our herds are inthat bad a shape. Do you think its predators or ticks or both ?
Man…that’s rough. Did you spend much time up Joe creek/Strauss creek/rogers mountain? Every trip I made up there grouse hunting this past September there was moose galore on each one and I didn’t even get out of the rig Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I've thought about this quite a lot the last few years. I disagree with lowering tag numbers, that just leaves more for the wolves to eat, that are out there eating moose 24/7/365. Let hunters hunt while there are still a few moose to hunt, any moose a hunter may take is compensatory at this point, it most likely would end up as wolf scat anyway. The only way to fix the moose decline is with a wolf decline! To the OP, sorry to hear you were unsuccessful.
I'll be in Idaho soon enough so my moose adventures will continue I'm ok with the lack of harvest.I do feel for all the bull tag guys that had to eat the tags...Douglas use to be good. I've been recreating in the area for the better part of 20 years.Buddy had a bull tag 10ish years ago and we saw 3 bulls in a day had a half. It's just not what it used to be...and probably never will be again.
