Favorite boots

I have Lowas. I'll never buy a cheap pair of boots again. They've formed to my feet and at the end of the day, it's no longer a race to see how fast I can get them off. They're the best I know.

Have used my Rocky Pro-Hunter boots for 8 seasons now. Waterproof, light and comfortable. Love 'em.

Hanwag, like others have said I'm never going back to cheap boots.

I like Rocky boots. Just make sure they say Gortex on them, the other stuff does not work.

I have used Lowas, Meindl, and Kenetrek boots over the last 5 years.  They have all been great boots but the Lowa and Kenetreks have been awesome and the Kenetrek boots fit better so they win out.

Before making the switch to the higher end boots I rotated between danner, rocky and Irish setter.  No one will ever be able to convince me that these boots are worth their price tag after making the switch.  Besides, even know the initial cost of the boots I recommend is higher they are a better bargain as the "$ per years worn" seems to be much greater.

I had resisted for quite a while but bought some Kenetreks last year and they are definately the best I've ever had. They've been through some seriously wet, snowy, muddy, nasty weather and have held up great. I always used danners before but I just wear them out too fast and I can barely get a season out of the waterproofing. Anyways Kenetreks have served me well.

I figured I would add something as well to this old thread.  I have a pair of Meindl Perfekt boots.  This is my third hunting season and they have been amazing boots up unti this year.  As said before by huntnnw and Bullblaster the foot beds started to get really hard and would start to fatigue my feet after a full day.  A couple weeks ago while out at Cabela's I picked up a set of the Meindl Air-Active footbeds (which are what are in the Meindl Ultralights I also own and also love) and a set of Sof-Sole Athletes Plus insoles.  I removed the original "Perfekt" footbeds and have tested these two insoles over the past couple weekends during late muzzy season.  I have put at least 10 miles on each set of insoles and both did way better that the 3-year old Perfekt footbeds.  But I have to say the Sof-Sole insoles are great so far.  I will have to see how they hold up, but my Perfekts are back to being perfect.

Jarheads will wear anything on their feet as long as the treads will hold guts in 'em. Don't take boot advice from Jarheads!

I ended up putting some sof sole foot soles in my.meindls and they helped a ton!

Schnees Boots...been wearing them for years on the wetside. Warm and waterproof a little on the heavy side if your gonna put on a lot of miles but well worth the money

I've used the Meindle Canada Hunter since 92, and it's been a great boot, actually became a better boot with the double stitching, as I had issues with my first 2 pairs that were single stitched (Cabela's replaced them).  This year I bought Kenetrek Mt Extreme's, 400 gr thinsulate, and they are nice as well.  I've finally broken them in and they are quite similar to the Canada Hunter.  I expect good things with them.

For 25+ years I goofed around buying what I refer to as the disposable boots, Rocky's, Danners, etc.  Went thru a ton of what was touted as the next best hunting boot, blah, blah, blah.....
I have no idea why I waited so long to point all that boot money I spent over the years to the Kennetrak people.
4 years later,  my Mountain Extremes will only be replaced with another pair, if I have to.

I do still have my last pair of disposable Pronghorns.  They leak like sieve but I don't care.  They are relegated to the barn and usually covered with horse crap, a fitting existing for them.

Simple, Meindl....

didn't read a single other post because for me it is a  no brainer... Meindl. You can buy them under the Cabelas Perfekt brand. Ive had many other boots and spent some big money but these take the cake by far
