Without sharing a physical address or marriage or medical things then smossy would have no legal connection. So he would not be a reason for dismissal. You security clearance would not hinder you. IF you have never been arrested or charged with assault or other serious crimes this would most likely be a clerical error

Also no authority can deny you "because they want too."
My dad gets whacked everytime and my buddy has got whacked once as well. My father has a guy that has the same name. Shuts him down everytime and he has to wait and wait and wait. It really sucks. My buddies had something to do with the address on his drivers license being listed different then something. I can't remember what he said or how he worded it but it was something to so with his address.

It can be many things, spelled your name wrong, Moved lately and not updated. But I do thank you as reading this made me remember my CCP expires on April 12thNot true cause it has caused me problems.

And my investigations are very indepth. I think that every situation is just a little different. Best thing to do is just contact them and ask why. Let us know how it goes.
Quote from: trophyhunt on March 28, 2013, 04:55:40 PMYou should apply for your concealed weapons permit, then you wont have to wait to purchase handguns (unless the laws have changed).Until you get the issue fixed through NICs you probably will get denied for a CPL also.

I have never been denied but I did get delayed all the time. And when I dug into why I found out it was because of a security clearance. Apparently a FBI background check raise red flags cause it doesn't show why you were investigated. You should get paperwork to apply for the voluntary appeal file. Cause unfortunately getting a conceal permit will not necessarily make this problem go away. I still got delayed after getting my permit. Once I got a appeal file number no more problems.
Odd because I have held 1 all the way back to working on the B-2 stealth when it was a "black" program. I have never been denied or put on hold I wonder what the difference is?
By chance do you happen to be in the military for that clearance, did you recently renew your clearance? if so this is strange, I have never been denied a gun purchase.
A simple mistake on the application could be the problem. My wife, an officer of the law, lol, was denied in jan. I laughed so hard but it was a app mistake....... Check into that!!
Good luck smossys-girl. I hope the firearm wasnt too unique, and you can purchase one like it in a few days when this gets worked out with the county.
I would wait until you hear about your CWP, if you get a letter saying that you were denied then go down to the sheriffs office and see why. Then you will know what you need to do to clear things up. One more question is do you live within the city limits or do you live in the county?
