sea lions at bonneville
« on: April 21, 2013, 07:16:26 PM »
I stopped to try out my 100-400mm lens on the sea lions at the dam and got this picture. I didn't notice the salmon until after I got home.

Too bad they're killing oversized sturgeon too. Someone should do something about those things. Emergency closure on sturgeon and the big sea lions are killing them left and right.

The states are killing the repeat offenders.  Hopefully after doing that for a bit the problem is smaller.

How about removing the problem all together rather than making it smaller?

There's a big one down at Bonneville just having his way with oversized sturgeon right now....

Unfortunately they can't kill the stellar sea lions, which are the big ones. They are a protected species and do alot of the damage to the oversized sturgeon. The California sea lions are eligle for removal. I wish the tribes would "ceramonially harvest" some of them (or all.)
Fish hard, hunt harder!
