To hunt and butcher an animal is to recognize that meat is not some abstract form of protein that springs into existence tightly wrapped in cellophane and styrofoam.

I'll be applying as well. Would love a bear rug or maybe even a mount.

I am back to zero as well this year, plus MrMykiss killed MY bear so I don't have much hope for this year :chuckle:   I would like to find this dude again though!  I don't know how old he is but his damn muzzle is all grey and talk about sway back and potbellied! If the blonde sow keeps that color she would eat a bullet this year though!
It is foolish and wrong to mourn these men.  Rather, we should thank god that such men lived.  -General George S. Patton

These are 3 of the 4 I've killed within a half mile over the past few spring bear permits. All are smaller but I couldn't pass up the blonde one, she was 15.5 years old.
