She looks scared and seeking security from her alpha. I don't even take a 10 yr old bird dog shooting with the high power stuff. It hurts their ears even if they don't cower under the truck or run off. having her hang out in the truck "getting used to the shots" isn't how you introduce a gun either.
What's that you folks are shooting?
gotchausually when a dog is between your legs it's not a good thing for their confidence building. We don't know much of anything from a picture other than the dog is between your legs and in pretty close proximity to high power rifles going off. Imagine turning your hearing up a few notches then pulling the trigger on a rifle w/o protection, it's going to be unpleasant. If you got to wear hearing protection (or should be rather), then the dog doesn't belong there.
