I've never participated in any derby's,  but in light of this I think I'll start.

When's the next coyote contest?

I was thinking the same thing.

There is a Nation wide assault going on right now , Figured this would come down watching the board for the last few years , There is a lot to be said for keeping a low profile. Bowing up your back, Going postal and making idle threats will do nothing, You have to keep a lower profile and continue to do what YOU enjoy, Posting results on a public forum only adds salt to the wound . the bunny huggin do gooders out there will have nothing to complain about if your not showing it on a public forum,Dont you have to ask yourself why its so important to post your sucess on a public forum?  Not saying you shouldnt have the right to do so , But is it really worth the hassle ? I agree , show Olympia how you feel, But in the end they will do as the (Your out numbered) dictates. As for me  , Ill just keep doing what i do and keep it to myself , Isnt that what Predator hunting IS all about ? Silent in, Silent out, get the job done.

Interesting coming from you.

Are you against coyote derbies?

Most of us know your association with foxpro and you make some great hunting shows/videos and put down more coyote than most of us combined on HW.

guess I'm confused?

As hunters we all need to support each other. One reason we keep losing one activity after another is because too many hunters only worry about themselves. We should all stand up for each other or we will continue to lose one activity after another. United we stand, divided we fall!

Perhaps we may disagree on certain tactics or kinds of derbies, however like BP said it is NOT about  the derbies its about reducing opportunites by bunny huggers.

I just don't see it happening.

Your site is a good example of why it won't.

People around here are too focused on tearing others down.

That fish is too big or too small.
Deer is too small, the shot too far or too close to some road.
You can't shoot Elk with that caliber.
You can't call a rifle a toy
On and on and on

Jay I think its easy to figure out how people actualy are on here, In a way you get to see someones "true self" because we are anyymouse so you can run your mouth, or be as helpful as you want. There are LOTS of people that i have meet that don't post or become members but they do think there is a bunch of good info here... I have found that there are just certian topics that i don't read, or certain people that i just don't engage because nothing good can come of it.

This place is as good/bad as you make it.  :twocents:

You are correct about the short comings, we all have to work to change that and to support each other or we will continue to lose. History has shown us what happens if we continue to not support each other.

I think it's getting better, there's been quite a bit of push back on "ethics nazi's".
Sure there are some instances where it's called for, but at least most of them are little more careful how they provide criticism.

I've done my share of pushing back  :chuckle:

so let's not jack the thread but instead self censor our kill shots, and refrain from posting up graphic pics on FB and other social media.

edit:

haha I just realized the tongue is hanging out on my deer in the avatar -  that was a big ethic's nazi no-no at one time on HW   :nono:

We need more messages sent. The anti-hunters sent 520 messages, we need to surpass that, let's keep this going, get family and friends to send messages too.   :hello:

"One does not hunt in order to kill; on the contrary, one kills in order to have hunted..If one were to present the sportsman with the death of the animal as a gift he would refuse it. What he is after is having to win it, to conquer the surly brute through his own effort and skill with all the extras that this carries with it: the immersion in the countryside, the healthfulness of the exercise, the distraction from his job." Although I don't take part in derby's anymore, it doesn't mean I didn't use to.

I DO choose to support my Brother's in this.
