Here's what I told my rep.

"Vincent,
I am glad to see that you are on this task force.    As an avid outdoorsman, I know you realize that hunter's and fishermen have long carried the financial burden of providing funding for virtually all other users of the great outdoors in this state.   I would like to encourage you to look up Dale Denny, owner of Bearpaw outfitters.  He is a member of the task force and a wealth of knowledge and information regarding the  former, current and potential future uses of the great outdoor resources of this state.   Of all the members on the task force, he will be speaking for perhaps the greatest number and definantly the most important financial stakeholder during these discussions.

I hope to see some positive improvement in not only the use of our resource, but also in it's funding model.
Feel free to call and chat about this if you have the time or inclination.  I, and many outdoorsmen will be watching the progress of the task force. "

Good Luck, Dale

Step 1 - Allocate as much of our fisheries resources to recreational fishing as possible.  And, congrats Bearpaw! Looks like you will be outnumbered by the non-hunting representatives.

First thing I noticed.  Got to love bureaucrats and their committees to get their own end result....sorry to be a pessimist.  :twocents:
:yeah: first thing I noticed too....

Dale's going to be like that kid in school that always sat at the lunch table by himself, while all the other kids pointed and whispered about him.

Dang Dale, I wish you best luck but this "task farce" is really stacked to the left  :'(

I'm afraid he might just be fodder to "legitimize" this task farce, he'll do us proud of that I have no doubt; but the vast majority of members' backgrounds speak to the direction this thing is most likely heading.

With a task force that large I'd be bored if there weren't a couple of fringe personalities.
Which side are you on if neither will claim you?

Congratulations Dale. I'm sure you'll do the best you can to represent all Washingtonians in this endeavor. Even though the line of thinking espoused here by many is that if your job is in one sector, you can't possibly be impartial or fair.

I don't follow that line of thinking though and I trust you to look at all sides of the issues before you and listen to all the different points of view and then make decisions based on what is in the best interest of everyone in the State, not just us hunters and fishermen.

I don't envy you though. No matter what you do, you'll be taking heat because you can't satisfy everyone all the time.

Good Luck!

Good for you Dale, but I see a lopsided group again. No ATV groups involved again as usual.
I couldn't care less about what anybody says..............
