I have killed 2 moose in Alaska several years ago hunting with relative who lived in Alaska. One big, one small. Both one shot with .270 and 130 grain nosler partition.

Have you considered asking Paula for advice? :chuckle:

Pressure is definitely on, seems to me she could teach you a thing or two about knocking down a trophy bull. ;)

OOOOwwweee!  :'( Hurt my feelers Rob! :chuckle:

She is a shooter for sure, last years whitetail, on the run at 75 yards quartering away, first shot she put a 145 gr. speer hot-cor right through the heart with her 7mm-08!

The moose in Wyoming should be extremely concerned for their own safety!

Shot a moose last year with a partition that was quartering hard away and put it right behind the rear rib and landed under the off shoulder. The moose didn't go 50yds. Shot my elk last year at 400+ yds with the partition  and again hammer time didn't really move.
yea but one eyed moose don't count.

I don't know about a .35 caliber Nosler Partition but a .30 caliber 180 grain Partition will shoot thru 3 feet of moose.   I shot one on the diagonal at 175 yards and the bullet exited the far side.

Those Grandslam's just look sexy, don't they?  Cool round no matter which you choose it's going to be great!  Hope everything works out for you.  I'll be anxiously waiting for the story and pictures
He asked, Do you ever give a short simple answer?  I replied, "Nope."

Actually I do like the Grand Slam over the Partition because I always had problems with the point on the Partitions getting bent or flattened while in the magazine. The Grand Slams don't have that issue.

all you need is a regular plain old bullet in a good  caliber.  most of the moose we have seen in washington you can walk up to them and shoot them at like 50 yards or so.  mike w

I think either will work great! I have a similar mission now that I pulled a idaho moose tag.
Im thinking 375 h&h slumming 300 grain hornady btsp or 300 rum and 215 grain bergers for the moose out there a ways. Interested to see how those shoot for you!
