I recently purchased a set of binoculars but while doing research it seems that the best set in your price range is probably Sightron SII Blue Sky. They have lots of great comparison reviews on Birdform and other sites.

I have not tried a Sightron binocular, but their rifle scopes are quite impressive.

Just be sure and try the Leupold Yosemite's that I recommended before you get the Diamondbacks. They're half the price. I've had both.

   I have the 10x42's great glass, and compact enough. I've looked through the Vortex HD bino's and found they actually hurt my eyes while other high end HD's do not, soemthing to think about when you start looking into HD's.  I love the diamondbacks though, for the price and quality in a 10x they are hard to beat IMHO.

Maybe i am biased nikon fan but i have there atb in a 10x50, a little bulky but its was one of the few i found my eyes comfortable  looking through and easy to focus. I use glasses most of the time so eye relief and being able to comfortably focus was my main thing. I also recently got binos for my wife this last fall and she settled on some nikon prostaff 7 in 10x42 for $100 on a black friday deal so that was hard to pass up. And their warranty stuff was pretty straight forward when i sent mine in to get my eye cups fixed. We also looked at the diamondbacks and i liked them however the binos werent gonna be meant for my eyes so we went with my wife was most comfortablen in. Both pairs we have retail  for under $200. One of these days ill pony up and get something better but these do good for now and i dont feel so bad when they get beat up or tossed around the back seat by my kids when were out and about.

More expensive binos are better... but HD glass hasn't been around forever and somehow game animals were still killed.

Vortex Diamondbacks will get the job done nicely in this price range

   my middle son just got these on the deal of the day at cameraland for 129.99. My oldest has diamondbacks and I think the Minox are better. Don't think you can find better for that much money and the boys at cameraland are topnotch.

Minox does make good bino's. I'd probably get those for $150 over the Diamondbacks.

Bought a pair of diamondback 8x28 Friday at cabelas for $145. Used them a few times this weekend and was impressed. Good quality for the price
