Is north river unit permit access?
« on: November 22, 2015, 09:54:03 PM »
I know North River is covered by a few different companies. and I'm having a difficult time trying to find any sort of boundary maps to the unit so i can figure out what is accessible or not.

I want to hunt the northeast side of the unit. Around the artic tavern.
Thanks in advance

Read the sings on the gates.  Weyco and RYN permit only.  GD, Cambell, and Hancock you are good to go.  Joust follow the rules.  Mostly a walking show.  Lots available on east side of the gmu.

Thanks. Without driving down there before the season I didn't want to show up and find out I wasn't gonna be able to hunt the area.

Go to the link below (if it works).  Use the middle wheel on the mouse to zoom into the North River Area.  Weyerhauser has permitted that whole east side now. Good news is it appears to be only $75 for a family.  Better than $250 or $300. That includes use of a vehicle.  Walk ins are $50.   Reasonable, but still feels wrong. We are going to be out there Friday/Saturday this week ourselves.  Looking for a plan D because all the access points I usually hunt are gated minus 3 that we won't know about till Friday.  Good luck.

The west side of highway 101 is not the general area for the Aberdeen permit. It requires the Artic "enhanced permit" which is $250 and is sold out. There's not much, if any, land to hunt in the east half of the North River GMU, that I'm aware of. Unless you have the Weyerhaeuser permit for the Artic area.

Pretty much have to pay to play.  This was my favorite place for late season until they made me have to spend more money.
