remington arms loses another lawsuit fight
« on: May 05, 2016, 11:19:19 PM »
In what could be the turning tide of our loss to keep and bear arms, the family from the Newtown shooting from 2012, had had an ongoing battle with Remington arms now. Just recently even though there are statutes on the books that help protect gun manufacturing from lawsuits this Judge has ignored all that and has allowed this travesty of a lawsuit to go on.

This could very well be a good thing,Either it will open the doors for all things to be open for these type of lawsuits(I doubt this)Or it will finally show the morons on the left that a manufacturer of any tool that is used in a matter that is not consistent with its design cannot be held liable when it is used for purposes other than its design. Is a car at fault for the drunk driver? Is a knife at fault for someone getting cut? Will we soon be able to sue Nike for a blister from a shoe that was to tight and now I can't work full time because of the pain?  :chuckle:

No what it will do is open the door for more lawsuits against the gun manufactures, and put them out of business, making it impractical for them to keep selling guns, because anyone who is a victim of a gun will sue them. It's a back door assault on our rights that's what it is.

It would open the door for lawsuits not only v. gun manufacturers, but for knife manufacturers, hammer manufacturers, car manufacturers; anything that is commonly used by crazy people to kill lots of people at once. I don't see this suit surviving scrutiny by upper courts. If it does, we're all screwed.

I hope your right, but with the trend that's happening I'm not that optimistic.

I wonder how their argument for selling a military style weapon to civilians will go over while the police in every state along with these pictures are carrying these same military style weapons.Go Trump!!

One more reason to make sure a liberal does not get to nominate Supreme Court seats. :twocents:

I agree. People are comparing this to Big Tobacco in the 90's, but it's not the same thing at all. Big Tobacco hid knowledge of cigarettes addictiveness and cancer causing properties for decades. This lawsuit accuses Remington of deliberately targeting at risk males to sell their rifles to, which is ridiculous.

The only thing that will come of this is that gun makers will a lot more careful with their advertising, which is good. Too many of them advertise these weapons like they are toys.
