Cleman Mt here we come
« on: June 10, 2016, 02:55:30 PM »
So I found out I drew cleman Mt b tag for Nov.  I called my cousin who I hunt with and he drew the same tag.  Who would of thought.  Cousins who live 2 houses apart both drew sheep tags.  It should be a fun hunt.  Lucky for me my cousin has killed a sheep in Oregon and one in Alaska and has been on 3 other sheep hunts so he knows what to look for.  Can't wait.

Should be an great time.  Don't the sheep rut during that B tag?

That's funny. Same tag I drew, and then my cousin drew it the following year. Good luck! And yes, the rams will be chasing the ewes. Get a hold of "Elkstuffer" on here if you need a good sheep taxidermist. He lives in Naches.

No, not that I know of. He's on the hill just above Naches.

That's Tieton

Yeah I know but to me that whole area is "Naches." I drove through Naches to get to his house, never did see a town called Tieton.  :dunno:

LOL  Well my mom will say she grew up in Naches but they actually lived up by Rock Creek road, which is what, about 20 miles from Naches?

First you draw my tag and now you're rubbing it in my face!? Just kidding, I got the whole list of 'not selected' that I was anticipating. It's a long ways off, but I hope to see a grip-n-grin pic on here of a great ram.

I am excited to get over there and see what quality of rams I can expect.  Hunting fool says that hunters last year only hunted one day.  Does any one know how big the rams that have been coming out of that unit are?

I took one in 2013 that was about 158. Might have seen 1 or 2 that were bigger but too far off to tell. Let me know if I can help answer any questions! We hunted from the top of the ridge down the Naches side. Waterworks canyon is a great place to start looking.

The bighorns on Clemens are doing great with numbers busting at the seams. It should be no problem finding lots of rams to pick through. As posted by Cook, look in Waterworks and the adjacent draws and you'll be into sheep.
Clemens rams typically score 150-165 B&C with a few even breaking 170. I try to tell people to not get caught up in score to much. Go look for a ram with some age that has a "look" you like and enjoy your hunt.

I live just outside of Tieton and completely agree!!! There's a difference. I live a mile from Rick. Great place to live.
