Thanks. It was a very memorable buck for sure. Where he was living was just incredible. It's why I like to hunt where I do. Low deer densities, but high reward. I knew when I jumped him he had to be a nice buck. No other deer would live there where he was.

Give or take a inch or two, I dropped my knife so I went back to get it and took a tape 76inches. The cool thing was no tree stand, no pop up, no face paint, plaid shirt. The deer was under 5 yards for over a half hour. Do not move and breath in and out through your nose and they never know your there.

That is just over two yards you know?  :chuckle:
He said it was at 5 yards for 30 minutes, my guess is he didn't have a 5 yard pin and had to aim a little high with his 2 yard pin.

Awesome story and way to get it done primitive style.  I am impressed that you could get that close.
Pain is temporary, achieving the goal is worth it.

I didn't say it would be easy, I said it would be worth it.

Every father should remember that one day his children will follow his example instead of his advice.

Always something I wanted to try bit never had the nerve. Very very impressive. Might be the deer I am most jealous of this year.
