.223 Suppressor for .204 ?

Selling my current .223 AR and building another but thinking of going .204 this time if it will work with my can . Otherwise will build another .223

Your existing .223 can will work with a .204  As to the noise issue, in bolt rifles I've thought the noise level was very similar un-suppressed. I love shooting suppressed rifles, that should be a good setup if you build your 204AR.

Good to hear  . Still up in the air on a 204 build . Never even consider one just thought it would be different. If my 10 minutes of research is right the 223 has more choices of bullet weight but the 204 is faster . 204 has the flatness advantage past 400yrds ( but I have a 22/250 and 220 swift for that )

From what I've read and been told, the 204's in AR length barrels are very loud so you'll likely want to run it with your can screwed on the end.  I know my 16in. AR's in just 223 are loud as h3II unsuppressed so if the 204 is louder than those, it must be VERY LOUD!! 

I thought about getting a 204 barrel for my AR but I really like the little CZ 527's and they flat shoot right out of the box and for just a little more than what a good quality barrel cost, I can have a CZ 527 Varmint in 204.  If you're not 100% set on doing a 204 in an AR, maybe take a look at the CZ 527 Varmint model, they're a sweet little bolt gun and they always seems to shoot extremely well.

Or a 20 Practical, which is just a straight neck down of 223 brass to .20cal with no fireforming involved.  I really like the idea of a 20 Practical or 20 Tactical because you can use Lapua 223 brass which nearly lasts forever and if I wasn't so cheap I'd have one of my 223's rebarreled to 20 Practical but I really want another CZ 527 just need to figure out how I can slip it by "The Warden" without her noticing.

CZ is slowly adding calibers to the 527 model. They just announced a 6.5 Grendel and I heard .300 Blackout is a possibility. Re-barreling the 527 is pretty easy too.

I'd imagine it's a pretty straight forward process, as long as you have a lathe that can cut metric threads. 

James Calhoon is kind of a CZ 527 specialist and he told me, how they come right from the factory is pretty darn good and typically doesn't have to do much to them at all.

Here is a wrench we designed and we used Black Hole to do the pre fit barrels. It took me less than an hour to do the re-barrel and a couple more to adjust the inletting.

We did a standard shank replacement and prototyped a Savage style nut.

You had me right up until you said barrel nut. 

I appreciate their function and they definitely serve their purpose and have their place, it's just that place won't ever be on any of my guns. lol

There was only one we did with the nut. It worked fine but I though it wasn't worth the weight penalty and having to face the reciever. All the others indexed like the factory barrel.

You guys hi-jack away  . Anyone ever part out an AR ?  Now I might just sell off the stuff I don't want ( everything except upper/lower receivers) and buy different. Not sure how to price the old stuff. What's your thoughts ?
