We were surprised with how wet of a winter we've had there were so many ticks up there as well.

Found a few in me this year. I had one crawling on my neck about 3 days after being in the woods. I shower at least once a day, sometimes twice. I wonder where he came from?

After weekend of turkey hunting, I had the same thing happen. I had showered, used a fine tooth comb, the works. I got to thinking and sure enough, went out and checked the truck only to find one of the little buggers on the seat cover. They had dropped off on the way home, hung out a day or two and attacked while I was coming home from work. Sneekey little buggers.

Had two on me yesterday while I was sighting in my 22 mag on my property near Chewelah. Wasn't even near brush or trees and only there an hour.

Has anyone ever seen a tick in western WA? In 48 years I've never seen one in Whatcom county. I spend almost all my spare time in the woods year round too.

I get a couple on me every year in snohomish, skagit, and whatcom counties. In August I found one on me in the truck after bear hunting around Darrington. During deer season I had another one that got past my gaiters, up my pant leg, and embedded into my calf. Had a friend's dog get 4 or 5 on him in just an hour of walking around a clear cut near the Sauk.

I've found quite a few over the years in western wa. Some at st helens, some around greenwater, and even some on the islands. Found one on me from anderson island years ago and shot a buck in the san juans who had at least a dozen on him.

This hasn't made it's way up here yet that I'm aware of, but I'm dreading the day. Tick born red meat allergy called alpha-gal. Ironically you get bit by a tick that bit a deer and you can't eat venison or any other game meat for the rest of your life.

Figured I'd revive this thread, given how bad the ticks appear to be this year already. Went out for sheds on Tuesday, picked up 4 ticks in Klickitat Co. They are out in full force. 4 ticks to 2 sheds - need to start improving my ratios!

Ticks, lol I have bags of ticks. It was the same last year. Jan, Feb, Mar it didn't matter. I can walk out my back door directly into Capital forest for a Hike and will come home with 1, 3, 5 EVERYTIME! Rain, snow, ice doesn't matter. I'll take a pic of our collection, Its ridiculous. Our pup was finally old enough to get a shot that repels them a couple weeks back and so far it's working extremely well.

Never seen any ticks west side, king county area but plenty on the east side. I wear White t-shirt/socks/undies/light color pants etc. Makes it much easier to see them.

In the Bonney Lake area, took a tick off my dog last week.

No ticks yet east,last year in April picked 30 of dog first 300 yards in.Hope this year is better.
