Braxton draws First Blood - He's a Predator now!
« on: June 22, 2017, 07:26:03 AM »
Braxton provided meat for his family's table for the first time and he was absolutely stoked. Is it the biggest bass in WA? Not by a longshot. But he caught it and I taught him about the difference between wild food and store-bought, that animals must die to provide food for us so we need to show them respect and a clean, quick death. I showed him how to clean it, scale it, flour it, and cook it. The kid was pinging off the walls. I imagine he'll be doing a lot more fishing and now, he can't wait to go after a deer in the Fall.

Way to go, P-man. And way to go Braxton.

Yeah, that's the kid. His parents are becoming more involved. It was his mom who took him fishing yesterday. His dad called me up and said "So, what do you do with this fish?"  :chuckle: I'll likely take him out this weekend or next and show him how to catch stockies.

15 now and starting HS in the Fall. He just passed Hunter Ed with his father. As of this October, we'll have been shooting together for 6 years, almost every Wednesday. I'm hoping he'll keep busy enough to stay out of trouble this summer. Fishing is a good start.

Do you have a plan as to where you guys will be deer hunting yet?
