There aren't many sources of useable info about hunting blacktails.  One time at a sportsman show the schedule listed a seminar on deer hunting presented by a man from the coast.  A friend and I went expecting blacktail tips.  The fellow started his presentation by saying that all of his info was about going east for mule deer because the blacktails around where he lived were so hard to hunt that he did not bother to hunt them.  We eased out the back...   :P
